‘Surface and Depth’ is an exhibition of new works by Irish artist Ruth O’Donnell and Swedish artist Eva Grytt. Inspired by the Persian poem “The Conference of the Birds”, O’Donnell references the many different interpretations and symbols in the tale of enlightenment. Grytt’s work looks closely at nature but instead of simply depicting what she sees, she instead illustrates the feelings and shape they evoke in her.

The two distinct styles of these artists’ work complement each other greatly one looking at the detail in everything the other the essence but both striving to portray the truth in their work.

The exhibition will run from the 11th March until the 28th March 2010.
